Professor Christopher Hennessy
Professor of Finance at London Business School
Professor Christopher Hennessy holds a Master of Public Affairs degree and a PhD in Economics from Princeton University. His research focuses on information economics, moral hazard and debt, debt restructuring, tax planning, financing dynamics and credit risk. He is a Professor of Finance at London Business School and has received a grant from the European Research Council to study the affect of tax changes on corporate financing decisions.
Professor Luisa Alemany
Associate Professor of Management Practice in Strategy and Entrepreneurship
Luisa Alemany holds an MBA from Stanford University and a PhD in Economics and Business from Universidad Complutense (Madrid). She is an Associate Professor of Management Practice and Academic Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital at London Business School. In May 2023, she launched MELBA, Middle East LBS Business Angels, in Dubai. She was part of Rising Tide Europe I and II, the first European Women-only business angels’ fund.

This is an 6-month executive program designed to enhance your journey toward becoming a world-class CFO. It follows a structured path through four key themes: Advance, Accelerate, Ascend, and Amplify. The journey includes live virtual sessions, in-person modules in India and London, and supported asynchronous online learning.
These themes represent the key stages of your development throughout the program:
- Advance: This initial phase focuses on preparing you for the journey ahead, sparking your interest. This would be conducted via live synchronous sessions with faculty and experts of the London Business School.
- Accelerate: This phase emphasizes building expertise in core financial areas, focusing on current thinking and practical application in the Indian context. This would be conducted by faculty and experts of LBS via a 5-day immersion in Mumbai, India.
- Ascend: This phase broadens your perspective with a global outlook, delving into future trends in finance and advanced investment strategies via a 5-day campus immersion programme at the London Business School at Regents Park, London, UK.
- Amplify: This final phase focuses on deepening your perspectives on the modern CFO role, engaging with leading digital transformation strategies, and reflecting on your learning to maximize impact via online learning platforms using synchronous and asynchronous learning modules.
The program blends theory with practical application. The in-person modules, especially in India and London, emphasize applying theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, with input from LBS and Imarticus finance specialists, as well as guest speakers from the business and financial communities giving you a perspective of global and the Indian context.
The program is tailored for Indian CFOs by integrating global best practices with India-specific financial, regulatory, and economic insights. It addresses challenges unique to Indian enterprises and offers networking with senior finance leaders for strategic growth.
Participants will attend a 5-day immersion at London Business School campus, offering global insights and exclusive networking opportunities with leading faculty and leaders in finance.
You will work on a transformative individual & group business project and engage with real-world case studies, surveys, and simulations to apply what you have learned.
The program includes approximately 206 hours of asynchronous and supported live virtual study, plus significant in-person components (40 hours each in India and London). This translates to a blended learning experience, requiring consistent engagement of approx 10-12 hours a week throughout a span of 8 months.
Classes will primarily be conducted on Fridays or during the weekends, either Saturday or Sunday. Please note that the schedule is subject to change at the discretion of London Business School.
